William "Bill" Dwight Rhyne, Jr., 68, recently of Lincolnton, NC, formerly of Raleigh, NC, passed away on February 14, 2013, from the effects and subsequent consequences of a recent stroke.

The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February, 17, 2013, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church of Lincolnton.  Pastor Chad Walker of Holy Cross will be presideing over the service.  Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 16, 2013, at Warlick Funeral Home in Lincolnton.  Burial at Hollybrook Cemetery in Lincolnton will immediately follow the funeral service on Sunday. 

Bill was born in Lincolnton on October 15, 1944.  He graduated from Cherryville (NC) High School before continuing on to receive a bachelors degree from Appalacian State University.

Bill was married to Judy Sigmon Rhyne from Granite Quarry, NC, on August 16, 1969.  They celebrated 43 years of marriage in 2012.

Bill worked as a student teacher, in retail sales for J.C. Penny and Service Merchandise, and as a store manager for Kerr Drugs in Cary, NC, before finishing his career as an employee of Lowe's Home Improvement in Raleigh.  He enjoyed visiting the beach and surf fishing with friends in his time away from work.

Bill is survived by his spouse, Judy, presently of Clemmons, NC.  Additional surviving relatives include his sister, Shirley Rhyne Jones, and her husband, Gary Jones, of Lexington, NC, along with numberous nieces, nephews, grand-neices, grand-nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and other extended family and friends.

Bill was preceded in death by his father, William Dwight Rhyne, Sr. and his mother, Ruth Hoffman Rhyne, who formerly resided in Cherryville and Lincolnton.
