Shirley Margie Smith Cook, age 66, of 951 Bailey Springs Drive in Lincolnton, died on Wednesday, February 20, 2013. Her funeral service will be 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Middle Cross Baptist Church with Pastor Dale Hendricks and Pastor Chris Randall officiating. Burial will follow in Hollybrook Cemetery. The body will lie in state thirty minutes prior to the service. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Friday, February 22, 2013 at Warlick Funeral Home. Mrs. Cook was born April 19, 1946 in Burke County to the late Joe Denton and Ruth Bollinger Clark. She worked in textiles. She is survived by two sons, Michael Cook of Lincolnton and Bobby Cook of Vale; one daughter, Susan Cook Willis of Lincolnton; mother, Ruth Clark of Valdese; one brother, Paul Smith of Valdese; one sister, Joann McCellean of Morganton; and nine grandchildren.
