Obituaries

Mr. John Henry Huss, age 65, of the Heath House in Lincolnton, and formerly of Crouse, died on Wednesday, March 6, 2013.

His funeral service will be 4:00 pm on Friday, March 8, 2013 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Darrell Bost officiating.  Burial will follow in the Leonard’s Fork Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 3:45 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Huss was born September 7, 1947 in Lincoln County to the late N.C. Huss, Sr. and Sarah Reep Huss.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by brothers Boyce Huss and Roger Huss, and sisters Thelma Hoyle and Blanche Black. He worked at Vermont American.

He is survived by two daughters, Tina H. Heafner and husband Scott of Lincolnton and Haylee Harrelson and husband Clay of Cherryville; four grandchildren, Chase Heafner, Logan Heafner, Judd Harrelson, and Zander Harrelson; five brothers, N.C. Huss, Jr. of Lincolnton, Harry Huss, Edwin Huss, and Donald Huss, all of Crouse, and Ben Reep of High Shoals; and three sisters, Christine Dixon of Crouse, Mable Greene of Shelby, and Marie Sigmon of Cherryville.
