Obituaries

Ray Guy Baxter, age 69, of 6964 Gene Baxter Lane in Vale, died on Sunday, March 10, 2013.

His funeral service will be 3:00 pm on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at Hulls Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Marcus Redding and Rev. Dale Pederson officiating. Military graveside rites will follow. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Hulls Grove Baptist Church.

Mr. Baxter was born January 15, 1944 in Lincoln County to the late Cline and Geneva Taylor Baxter.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. He served in the United States Army and would later become the CEO of Turner-Baxter, Inc. where he was employed from 1968 to present day.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra R. Baxter of the home; three sons, Jacob Andrew Baxter and wife Dana, Micheal B. Richard and wife Dawn, and Stephen Todd Richard and wife Wendy, all of Vale; two brothers, Robert Baxter of Lincolnton and Hill Baxter of Shelby; five grandchildren, Molly Blye Richard, T.J. Richard, Zachary Richard, Lindsey Richard, and Raylee Baxter; and his loving dog, Angel.
