Obituaries

Margaret Iler Johnson, age 72, of 143 Lakewood Avenue in Lincolnton, died on Sunday, March 31, 2013.

Her funeral service will be 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Doug McClain officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Warlick Funeral Home.

Mrs. Johnson was born April 28, 1940 in Lincoln County to the late James Hoyet Iler, Sr. and Mattie Izene Sain Iler.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca Johnson.  She worked for Cochrane Furniture. Mrs. Johnson was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church for 62 years and loved doing crafts and woodworking. 

She is survived by her husband, Walter Vance Johnson of the home; four sisters, Evelyn Gilbert of Lincolnton, Betty Porter of Cherryville, Frankie Short and husband Bill of Cherryville, and Mary Jo Carpenter and husband Farrell of Vale; and a brother, James Hoyet Iler of Vale.
