Shirley Donna Deaton Hord, age 70, of 3319 Philadelphia Church Road in Dallas, died on Monday, April 15, 2013. Her funeral service will be 11:00 am on Thursday, April 18, 2013 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jack Calloway officiating. Burial will follow in David Memorial Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:30 pm on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at Warlick Funeral Home. At other times, the family will be at the home of her daughter, Chrystal Hoyle at 1926 Highway 73 in Iron Station. Mrs. Hord was born July 9, 1942 in Gaston County to the late Charlie and Minnie Lee Tesner Deaton. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Bobby C. Deaton. Mrs. Hord worked as a seamstress. She is survived by her husband, Clarence Vernon Hord, Jr. of the home; a son, Vernon Ray Hord and wife Carla of Dallas; a daughter, Chrystal Hoyle and husband Jonathan of Iron Station; three sisters, Jeanette Smith of LaGrange, NC, Bobbie Langley of Princeton, and Peggy Smith of LaGrange, NC; four grandchildren, Brandon Ray Hord, Brooklyn Elizabeth Hoyle, Ballard G. Hoyle, and Charles W. Hord; and two great-grandchildren, Emmaline Rae Hord and Carleigh Irelyn Hord.
