Obituaries

Mr. Robert Elvan “Whitey” Beal, Jr., age 73, of 206 Springs East Road in Lincolnton, died on Monday, April 22, 2013.

His funeral service will be 11:00 am on Thursday, April 25, 2013 at Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Bud Painter and Rev. Jeff Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.  The body will lie in state for thirty minutes prior to the service. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:30 pm on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at Warlick Funeral Home.

Mr. Beal was born February 2, 1940 in Lincoln County to Macie Williams Beal and the late Robert E. Beal, Sr.  In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Eddie Beal and one sister, Trudy Beal.  He worked in maintenance for 46 years at Rock-Tenn in Conover, N.C. 

He is survived by his wife, Bessie Painter Beal of Lincolnton; two sons, Dale Beal and Randy Beal, both of Lincolnton; two daughters, Annette Beal of Lincolnton and Sandy Hartley of Lenoir; mother Macie Williams Beal of Lincolnton; two sisters, Jewell Lane and Ann B. Caldwell, both of Lincolnton; five grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.
