He is survived by four sons, Max Jordan and wife Marsha; Gerald Jordan and wife Nancy; James Jordan and wife Sharon; and Joey Jordan all of Lincolnton.  Three daughters, Nancy Riley; Louann Freshour and husband Jim Johnston; and Gail Villalobos all of Lincolnton.  Fourteen grandchildren, Jeri Lawing and husband Robert; Mitch Jordan, wife Tina; Jason Jordan; Julie Jordan; Brad Jordan; Jeff Jordan and wife Debbie; Dori Gantt and husband Allen; Leslie Riley; Tommy Riley and wife Mandy; Matt Freshour; Kate Davis and husband Devin; Sarah Johnston; Jessica Olson and husband Tjad and Lisa Villalobos, and sixteen great-grandchildren.

He was a 32nd Degree Scottish-Rite Mason with the Lincoln Lodge 137.  He was a member for over 50 years.

Daddy came to Lincoln County on October 15, 1934 from Graham County, NC; he met and married the love of his life, Addie Irene Colvard.  They raised seven children and were married for 75 years.

He retired from Carolina Freight Carriers of Cherryville, NC where he was a long-line driver for over thirty years.  Smiley, as he was known to all who knew him, was one of the first drivers to bring a diesel truck down from the North to Cherryville, NC.

He was a beloved dad and papaw and will be missed dearly.  He always had a smile on his face and never met a stranger.

A “Celebration of Life” will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, April 29, 2013 at the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel in Lincolnton with the Rev. Charles Ingle officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Sunday, April 28, 2013 at Warlick Funeral Home.  Masonic Rites will be observed at the graveside.
