Obituaries

Charles Adolphus Heavner, age 81 of Lincolnton, died on Monday, April 29, 2013.

His funeral service will be 4:00 pm on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at Bethphage Lutheran Church with Pastor Robert Mitschke officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:30 pm in the Bethphage Family Life Center.

Mr. Heavner was born June 22, 1931 in Lincoln County to the late Earnest Kohn and Della Houser Heavner. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Charles Wayne Heavner and a brother, Joe Billy Heavner.  He was self-employed in construction. 

He is survived by his wife, Peggy Thornburg Heavner of the home; one sister, Sarah Heavner Hallman of Lincolnton; one brother, Bob Heavner and wife Madge of Lincolnton; and a number of nieces and nephews.
