Obituaries

Mr. Carrol Douglas Craig, age 68, of 531 Hulls Grove Church Road in Vale, died on Friday, May 10, 2013.

His funeral service will be 2:00 pm on Monday, May 13, 2013 at Hulls Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Marcus Redding and Rev. Jonathan Hewitt officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state for thirty minutes prior to the service.  Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Sunday, May 12, 2013 at Warlick Funeral Home.

Mr. Craig was born November 24, 1944 in Lincoln County to the late Pate and Mattie Parker Craig.  He was retired from Lexington Furniture.

He is survived by his loving companion of 30 years, Gail Stiles; two daughters, Angie Ayers and husband Bryan of Lincolnton and Tammy Stiles of Lincolnton; three grandchildren, Jacob Ayers, Brittany Buff and husband Richard, and Pate Leatherman; two brothers, Jerry Craig and Eric Craig, both of Vale; and three sisters, Shirlene C. Thompson and Brenda C. Arrowood, both of Hickory, and Joyce “Sissy” Warlick of Vale.
