Obituaries

Mrs. Evelyn Louise Benfield Schronce Haynes, age 87, of 449 Calvary Church Road, Lincolnton died Friday, May 10, 2013.

Her funeral will be 2:30 p.m. Monday, May 13, 2013 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. David Jones and Rev. Ray Pennell officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Lincolnton.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:15 p.m. Monday at Calvary Baptist Church.

Mrs. Haynes was born January 25, 1926 in Gaston County and was the daughter of the late Phiffer George Benfield and Blanche Abernethy Benfield. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Howard Schronce.   She was retired from Crown Converting in Lincolnton.

Mrs. Haynes is survived by her husband, Rev. William W. Haynes Port Royal, SC; one son, Roger Schronce of Wisconsin Dells, WI; one daughter, Bobbie Eurey and husband, Bill of Cherryville; four step-daughters, Treva Haynes of Morganton, Pattie Tucker of Winston-Salem, Ann McNeil of Jacksonville, FL and Shea Werner of Beaufort, SC; two brothers, Jennings Benfield of Lincolnton and Jack Benfield of Lincolnton; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
