Obituaries

Sue M. Whitworth, age 74, of 124 Wesconnett Drive in Charlotte, died on Tuesday, May 14, 2013.

Her funeral service will be 2:30 pm on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at Hillcrest Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Gerald Beardon officiating.  Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Mt. Holly.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:15 pm prior to the service at the church. 

Mrs. Whitworth was born May 5, 1939 in Gaston County to the late Luther and Genevieve Ballard McClure. She worked as a church secretary for 23 years at Enderly Park Baptist Church. 

She is survived by her husband, Hoyle L. Whitworth of the home; one son, Hoyle Lee Whitworth, II of the home; and her special Labrador Retriever, Colt.
