His funeral service will be 3:30 pm on Saturday, May 25, 2013 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Robert L. Kerr officiating. Burial will follow in
Mr. Long was born April 29, 1930 to Bertha Blanche Carpenter and Robert W. Long, Sr. He was founder of the Dallas Pillow Company and CEO for 40 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved making fishing lures with his lifetime friend C.O. Brown and selling them at Roses’ stores. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Joan Wilson Long of
Surviving family members include his wife Paula Long, his sons, Danny Long and wife Tammie of Lincolnton, Morris Long and wife Linda of Denver, NC; Eddie’s wife Denise Long of Lincolnton; stepchildren Lynne Sain and husband Matt of Denver, NC, and Melissa Gemes and husband David of Lincolnton; grandchildren Marshall Long, Matthew Long, Kandace Helms, Sarah Long, Jennifer Philbeck, Scott Long and Logan Long; step- grandchildren Hunter Sain, Eddie Gemes and Maddie Gemes; and great-grandchildren, Peyton Helms and Mason Helms; Caregivers, Tammy, Jerry and Jeremy Strong of Lake Placid, FL.
