Obituaries

Mr. Howard Edward Lawing, age 86, of 2243 Country Club Road in Lincolnton, passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2013. He was born November 18, 1926 to the late L.V. and Mary Sigmon Lawing.

His funeral service will be conducted 2:15 pm Friday, May 24, 2013 at Boger City UMC with the Rev. Allan Van Meter and Rev. Joe Ervin officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm prior to the service at the church.

Survivors include wife; Betty Shuford Lawing, Daughter; Connie L. Pratt and husband Robert of Sherrills Ford; Grandaughter, Libby Troughton and husband Tim of Marietta, Georgia; brothers, Jackie Lawing, Donald Lawing, Wallace Lawing, Tony Lawing, all of Lincolnton, and Jerry Lawing of
Sherrills Ford; sisters, Pat Rush and Jeannie Arrowood of Lincolnton.

Howard was preceded in death by one daughter; Jill L. Kiser, and brother, Charles Lawing.
