Obituaries

Mr. Darrell Hoover, age 81, of 3251 Bluegrass Lane in Iron Station, died on Thursday, May 23, 2013.

His funeral service will be 3:00 pm on Sunday, May 26, 2013 at Stanley Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Dr. Danny W. Penny officiating. Burial will follow in the Alexis Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:50 pm prior to the service at the church.

Mr. Hoover was born October 17, 1931 in Gaston County to the late Loy and Fannie Long Hoover. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by grand daughter-in-law Tisa Dellinger and great-granddaughter, Payton Dellinger. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and then later worked as a pipe installer. 

He is survived by his wife, June Humphries Hoover of the home; a daughter, Donna H. Dellinger and husband Bobby of Maiden; a sister, Phyllis H. Ritchie of Iron Station; three grandchildren, Brandon Dellinger, Dustin Dellinger and wife Kadie, and Ashton Dellinger; and a great-grandson, Sawyer Dellinger.
