Rachel Armstrong Rhyne, age 93, of 5719 Hillcrest Circle in Indian Trail, died on Monday, May 27, 2013.
Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 31, 2013 at Crowell Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Freida Hopson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state for thirty minutes prior to the service. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at Warlick Funeral Home.
Mrs. Rhyne was born March 2, 1920 in Lincoln County to the late Joseph and Ida Jane Armstrong. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Gibby R. Rhyne, and two sons, Clayton Rhyne and Timothy Rhyne. She worked in textiles. Rachel loved babies, her grandchildren, gardening, playing cards, and she cooked Sunday supper every Sunday. She is survived by a daughter, Doris Button of Indian Trail; and numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
