Obituaries

Christine Elizabeth Williams Grigg, age 79, of 2095 Lithia Springs Road in Lincolnton, died on Thursday, May 30, 2013.

Her funeral service will be 3:00 pm on Monday, June 3, 2013 at Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church with Rev. Ken Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 2:45 pm prior to the service at the church.

Mrs. Grigg was born March 16, 1934 in Catawba County to the late Marion Pinkney and Susan Campbell Williams. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Junior Grigg, a son, Rodney  Grigg, four brothers, Dwight Williams, Paul Williams, Streta Williams, and Dennis Williams and four sisters, Eunice Beard, Mary Cooke, Leoda Hicks, and Ethel Caldwell. She worked in the furniture industry.

She is survived by one daughter, Debby Schronce and husband Jim of Lincolnton; three sisters, Sylvia Avery of Mt. Holly, Rachel Beal of Lincolnton, and Edna Sigmon and husband Charlie of Maiden; one granddaughter, Jennifer McGinnis and husband Mark of Denver; and two great-grandsons, Zachary and Cason McGinnis.
