Obituaries

Yvonne Sigmon Helms, age 74, of 13 Circle Drive in Lincolnton, died on Wednesday, May 29, 2013.

Her funeral service will be 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Salem Baptist Church with Pastor Kenneth Little and Pastor Andy Royals officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 pm prior to the service at the church.

Mrs. Helms was born September 23, 1938 in Lincoln County to the late Claude Lee and Bonnie Conner Sigmon. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Joe Helms, two sisters, Susie Sigmon and Lois Ray, and a brother, Dwight Sigmon. She worked in textiles for J.P. Stevens.

She is survived by three daughters, Cynthia H. Abernathy of Winston-Salem, Lorie Helms of Cherryville, and Bobbie Helms Little of Hickory; a sister, Phyllis Dellinger of Dallas; two brothers, Ronnie Sigmon and Claude Sigmon, both of Lincolnton; and four grandchildren, Magan Gates, Kenley Little, Korbin Little, and Kaleb Little.
