Elsie Rita DeSalvo Burgess, age 90, formerly of 1465 Whispering Hill Trail in Lincolnton, died on Sunday, June 16, 2013.

Her funeral service will be 10:00 am on Friday, June 21, 2013 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Father Matthew Buettner officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Burgess was born November 22, 1922 in the Bronx, NY to the late Charles and Edith Attanasio DeSalvo. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Burgess. She worked as a secretary.

She is survived by a brother-in-law, Bill Burgess and wife Jeanette; additional sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Burgess, Mildred Burgess, Mildred Burgess Deon; multiple nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews; a cousin, Joan Perez; and a godchild Anne McLaughlin.
