Obituaries

Sue Wells Kerley, age 73, of 791 McKinney Road in Burnsville, died on Friday, July 5, 2013.

Her funeral service will be 3:00 pm on Monday, July 8, 2013 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Alan Higgins officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:45 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Kerley was born August 14, 1939 in Rowan County to the late Lewis Franklin and Lula Bryte Eaker Wells. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, James Lawson Kerley and a sister, Linda Wells Underwood. She worked as a shipping clerk and, in her free time, enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves and having cookouts with her family.

She is survived by two sons, Roger Chastain and wife Sonya of Charlotte and Timothy Kerley and wife Jennifer of Burnsville; three sisters, Ethel Wellmon of Landis, Lois Daniels of Kannapolis, and Margaret Stackleather and husband Homer of Columbia, SC; and one grandson, Joshua Chastain of Concord.
