Obituaries

Inez Wilson Houser, age 92, of 1321 Cedar Grove Church Road in Vale, died on Tuesday, July 9, 2013.

Her funeral service will be 2:30 pm on Thursday, July 11, 2013 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Millwood officiating. Burial will follow in the Reeps Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:45 until 2:15 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Houser was born August 7, 1920 in Lincoln County to the late Burgin and Janie Cook Wilson. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Odell Floyd Houser and two sisters, Bryte Carswell and Arlee Canipe. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by a son, Floyd Steve Houser of the home; two daughters, Linda Parker of Vale and Judy Helms and husband Dean of Vale; a sister, Lunez Sain of Lawndale; five grandchildren, Karen Sharpe and husband Greg of Wilkesboro, Billy Helms, Deanna Hardy and husband Shane, all of Vale, Pamela Martin and husband James of Lincolnton, and Brenda Timmons and husband Mitch of Gastonia; and one great-grandson, Garrett Hardy.
