Obituaries

Judy Morris Bass, 67, peacefully passed away Thursday, July 18, 2013 at her home in Lincolnton.

Her Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 22 at Boger City Methodist Church with Rev. Joe Ervin and Rev. Eric Reece officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church.

Judy was born October 16, 1945 in Augusta, Georgia to the late Jack Austin Morris, Sr. and the late Mattie “Boots” Elliott Morris.

She is survived her loving husband of 31 years, Bryan D. Bass; her daughter, Jennifer Castleberry Welch and husband Donald Welch, Jr.; and three grandchildren, Brett, Blaine, and Belle of Lincolnton; her brother Jack A. Morris, Jr. and wife Luanna of Hilton Head Island, SC; and caregiver and friend of almost 7 years, Geraldean “Geri” Forester of Lincolnton.

She was the sweetest, most loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend. She was strong in her faith, loved Jesus, and was a member of Boger City United Methodist Church. For 18 and a half years, she was employed as an executive secretary of The Timken Company until she had to stop working due to her illness with multiple sclerosis in 1997.
