Mr. Julius Robert “Bud” Wise, age 88 of 4621 Reepsville Road in Vale, died on Monday, July 22, 2013.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 until 7:00 pm on Friday, July 26, 2013 at Warlick Funeral Home. The service will be private.
“Bud” was born April 28, 1925 in Lincoln County to the late Marshal Evan and Prue Gilbert Wise. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Bynum Wise. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and then later worked for, and retired from, Mohican Mills. Mr. Wise was a member of Lincoln Masonic Lodge #137, Scottish Rite, and the Oasis Shrine. He was a lifetime member of American Legion Post 100 and the Lincolnton VFW. “Bud” was a former assistant fire chief at Union Volunteer Fire Department.
He is survived by a son, Don Wise and wife Beth of Lincolnton; one grandson, Evan Wise of Lincolnton; and a sister, Leila W. Carpenter of Vale.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Legion Post 100 Baseball, 215 N. Pink Street, Cherryville, NC 28021, or to the charity of one’s choice.
