Fred Ernest Smith, Sr., age 85, of 1282 Highway 27 West in Lincolnton, died on Thursday, August 1, 2013.

His funeral service will be 11:00 am on Saturday, August 3, 2013 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bob Wise officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodside Church of Our Savior cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 10:45 am on Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Smith was born November 25, 1927 in Lincoln County to the late Richard James and Florence Gales Smith. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Annie Peeler Smith and a daughter, Linda Kay Byers. He was the owner/operator of R&F Frame.

He is survived by a son, Fred Smith, Jr. of Lincolnton; two daughters, Sue Crouse and Nancy McNeely, both of Lincolnton; two brothers, Harold Smith of Denver and Charles Smith of Lincolnton; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
