Obituaries

Mr. Harlan Dwight Hooper, age 59, of 445 Roper Drive in Lincolnton, died on Saturday, August 3, 2013.

His funeral service will be 2:00 pm on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joseph Alghrary and Rev. Leon Davis officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:45 until 1:45 pm prior to the service at the funeral home. 

Mr. Hooper was born May 31, 1954 in Lincoln County to Eula Davis Chapman and the late Harold Glenn Hooper. In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Vaughn Hooper and stepfathers, Bill Chapman and Eloy Turner.  

He is survived by his mother, Eula Davis Chapman of Lincolnton; a brother, Allen Hooper and wife Judy of Maiden; two nieces, Valerie Watts and husband Jeff and Adrianne Poovey and husband Nathan, all of Maiden; stepbrothers, Dana Chapman of Lincolnton and Maurice Chapman of Florida; and stepsisters, Melita Columbi of South Carolina, Elaine Funderburk of Mooresville, and Vickie Yount of Lincolnton.
