Obituaries

Mr. Ivey Grey “Ike” Proctor, age 81, of 3916 Will Proctor Street in Denver, died on Sunday, September 8, 2013.

His funeral service will be 3:00 pm on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at Denver United Methodist Church with Rev. Tim Killian officiating.  Burial will follow in the Denver Community Cemetery. The body will lie in state for 30 minutes prior to the service.  Visitation will be from 7:00 until 8:30 pm on Monday, September 9, 2013 at Warlick Funeral Home.

Mr. Proctor was born February 12, 1932 in Lincoln County to the late Shaler Roscoe and Grace Cornelia Hager.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Hope Proctor Caldwell.  He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and then later worked as an asbestos installer. 

He is survived by his wife, Cecil A. Proctor; four daughters, Theresa Hammitt and husband Ned of Denver, Debra Stallings and husband David of Newton, Robin Dixon and companion Keith Wesson of Kings Mountain, and Raye Lunceford and husband Brian of Denver; a sister, Patty Sherrill of Sherrills Ford; 9 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and his beloved canine, “Scooter.”
