Obituaries

Joyce Lea Bandy Saunders Lemmond, age 87, of 3162 E. Highway 27 in Lincolnton, died on Wednesday, October 30, 2013.

A celebration of life service will be 11:00 am on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Asbury United Methodist Church with Rev. Anita Sain officiating.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 10:45 am prior to the service at the church. 

Joyce was born June 14, 1926 in Catawba County to the late George F. and Una Henry Bandy.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband, Thurman Saunders, and brother, Wayne Bandy.  She worked for Talon Industries and later for Alda Crowe. 

She is survived by her husband, Steve Lemmond of the home; one son, Darryl Saunders of Iron Station; two daughters, Wanda Ballard of Lincolnton and Sharon Smith and husband Rodney of Denver; stepdaughter, Pam L. Burris and husband David of Holden Beach, NC; three grandchildren, Hope Lineberger and husband Shane, Brian Smith and wife Deanna, and Stephanie Smith; and three great-grandchildren, Alli Lineberger, Lily Claire Smith, and Carter Smith.
