Mr. James “Everette” Wise, of 4443 Jim Wise Road in Lincolnton, passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2013 after a brief illness.
His funeral service will be 11:00 am on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at Daniels Lutheran Church with Rev. Lewis Murdock officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 10:45 am prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Wise was born November 30, 1918 in Lincoln County to the late James Pinkney and Mary Guess Wise. He was also preceded in death by his wife of over 56 years, Margaret Ballard Wise; son, Steven Edmond Wise; brother Robert Elzy Wise; and nephew James Wessen Wise. A World War II veteran, dairy farmer, and mechanic, Mr. Wise’s favorite job was repairing farm tractors for over 50 years in a shop behind the home he was born, and still lived in. He was on the Board of Directors for the Lincoln County Farm Bureau, a founding member of the Howards Creek Fire Department, and a lifelong member of Daniels Lutheran Church.
Everette is survived by numerous nieces and nephews who adore him.
