Obituaries

Mrs. Damon G. Helms, widow of Rev. Albert C. Helms, of Lincolnton left her earthly home on Saturday evening, November 9, 2013 and she is now in the Presence of her Heavenly Father.

A memorial service will be held 7:00 pm on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at Westport Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Young and Rev. Don Greene and Rev. Raymond Hamrick officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:30 until 6:45pm prior to the service at the church. A private burial will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery at 11:00 am on Tuesday, November 12, 2013.

Mrs. Helms leaves behind one daughter, Susan Collins-Pewitt and husband Marvin of Lincolnton; one son, Dr. Randal Helms and wife Ivy of Myrtle Beach, SC; two granddaughters, Dr. Ashley Collins-Lee and husband Andrew of Mooresville, NC and Amber Helms Sass and husband Jon of Atlanta, GA; two grandsons, Joshua Helms and wife Andrea of Austin, TX and Austin Pewitt of Lincolnton; two great-grandchildren, Zander Lee and Lydia Helms and “adopted” son, Silas Risley of Hendersonville, NC.
