Obituaries

Mr. Jerry Elliott Perkins, age 71, of 4196 King Wilkinson Road in Lincolnton, died on Tuesday, November 12, 2013.

His funeral service will be 2:00 pm on Thursday, November 14, 2013, at Victory Grove Baptist Church with Rev. David Jarrell and Rev. Dr. Randy Setzer officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.  The body will lie in state for 30 minutes prior to the service.  Visitation will be from 6:30 until 8:30 pm on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at Warlick Funeral Home.

Jerry was born November 1, 1942 in Lincoln County to the late Lee Andrew and Johnsie Robinson Perkins.  He worked as a plant manager for Pilot Furniture. 

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Huss Perkins of the home; two sisters, Janice Hovis and husband Ken of Denver, and Gail P. Gilbert and husband Steve of Lincolnton; one brother, Emmitt Perkins of Lincolnton; a son, Michael Hovis of Lincolnton; and nephews Duke Sherrill and wife Kelly of Denver, and Chuck Gilbert and wife Barbara of Westwego, LA.
