Obituaries

Mr. Robert Elworth Clippard, age 88, of Alexis, died on Tuesday, November 26, 2013.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, November 29, 2013 in the Alexis Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Clippard was born April 22, 1925 in Gaston County to the late Berlin Quay and Margaret Plonk Clippard. He served in the United States Army during World War II and then later was a cattle farmer.

He is survived by two sisters, Imogene Long and Eileen Broome, both of Cherryville; a niece, Teresa Broome of Winston-Salem; and three nephews, Dennis Broome of Cherryville, David Long of Winston-Salem, and Alan Long of Virginia.
