Mr. Carroll Samuel Spencer, age 75, of 2799 Coral Drive in Lincolnton, died on Sunday, January 19, 2014.

His funeral service will be 2:00 pm on Wednesday, January 22, 2014, at the Lincolnton Church of God with the body to lie in state for 30 minutes prior to the service. Rev. Dr. Richard King will officiate. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Tuesday, January 21, 2014, at Warlick Funeral Home.

Mr. Spencer was born July 31, 1938, in Lincoln County to the late Ethan Hamrick and Viola Brittain Spencer. He worked as a card room supervisor.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Edna Shultz Spencer of the home; one son, Jimmy Spencer and wife Ann of Lincolnton; two daughters, Wanda Locklair and husband Jeff, and Annette Wray and husband Bruce, all of Lincolnton; two brothers, L.J. Spencer and wife Rosie, and Chuck Spencer, all of Lincolnton; two sisters, Dorothy Payseur and husband James, and Muriel Payseur and husband Clyde, all of Gastonia; ten grandchildren, Donald Schism, Dustin Schism, Ashley Spencer, Tyler Spencer, Ethan Spencer, Katie Wray, Matthew Wray, Jennifer Fox, Mitchell Locklair, and Baron Locklair; and twelve great-grandchildren.
