Ada Poole Lawing, age 97, of 4036 Asbury Church Road in Lincolnton, died on Tuesday, January 28, 2014.
Her funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, January 31, 2014, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church with Pastor Chad Walker officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:45 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. on Friday prior to the service at the church.
Ada was born November 24, 1916, in Lincoln County to the late Dofus and Sara Elizabeth Schronce Poole. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a daughter Joyce Baker, a son Howard Lawing, brothers Horace Poole, Bill Poole, Richard Poole, and Grover Poole, and sisters Fannie Sherrill and Macie McAlister.
She is survived by a son, Vernon “Butch” Lawing (Beverly) of Lincolnton; two daughters, Brenda Pearce (Forest) of Denver, and Ruth Little (John) of Lincolnton; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
