Martha Jane Potter Williams, age 96, of Charlotte, died on Thursday, January 30, 2014.
Her funeral service will be 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 1, 2014, at Amity Baptist Church in Iron Station with Rev. Alan Beard officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 pm prior to the service at the church.
Ms. Williams was born April 7, 1917 in Caldwell County to the late Thomas and Elizabeth Bowman Potter. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Glenn Williams, Sr. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by three sons, Glenn Williams, Jr. and wife Shirley of Charlotte, James T. Williams and wife Betty of Concord, and Reginald D. Williams of Denver; a daughter, Nancy Wenderlein of Charlotte; a brother, T.A. Potter of Catawba; twelve grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and fourteen great-great-grandchildren.
