Obituaries

Mr. William “Bill” H. Scronce, age 79, of 725 Clay Street in Lincolnton, died on Wednesday, February 12, 2014.

His funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 17, 2014, at Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church with Rev. Ken Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 16, 2014.

Bill was born January 7, 1935, in Lincoln County to the late Ethan Lee and Hattie Paysour Scronce. He retired from La-Z-Boy Furniture where he was supervisor of the framing department.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 60 years, Jane Harkey Scronce of the home; a son Ronald Scronce of Lincolnton; daughter Melody S. Sigmon and husband Keith of Lincolnton; two brothers Earl Scronce and Jerry Scronce, both of Lincolnton; six grandchildren, Branon Scronce, Ashton Stanley, Chase Scronce, Karla Barber, Connor Sigmon, and Kendall Sigmon; and eight great-grandchildren.
