Emma Louise Rhyne Devine, age 94, of Stanley Total Living Center, died on Wednesday, February 12, 2014.
Her funeral service will be 2:00 pm on Sunday, February 16, 2014, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charlene Hutchings officiating. Burial will follow in the Laboratory United Methodist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Saturday, February 15, 2014, at Warlick Funeral Home.
Emma was born February 23, 1919, in Lincoln County to the late Luther and Eva Arney Rhyne. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband John Luther Devine, a son David Alonzo Devine, two brothers Alonzo Rhyne and Robert “Windy” Rhyne, and two sisters Willie Mosteller and Mammie Bridges. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Devine was a very active and long-time member of Laboratory United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Judson Devine and wife Alice “Cat” of Lincolnton and Devin Myrick Devine of McDonough, GA; two daughters, Becky Farrar of Mt. Holly and Sarah Creshwell and fiancé Edward Rubsenstein of Lincolnton; four grandchildren Ronnie Michael Sealey, Liz Boyd, Beth Boykin, and John David Farrar; and two great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Doc Farrar.
