Obituaries

Carolyn Heavner Goodwin, age 69, of Hulls Grove Church Road in Vale, died on Wednesday, February 19, 2014.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 23, 2014 at Cedar Grove Lutheran Church with Pastor Dale Pederson officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.

Carolyn was born March 25, 1944, in Cleveland County to the late Ralph Foster and Kathleen Beam Heavner. She retired from the Co-op Extension office and also worked with the 4-H.

She is survived by her husband, Douglas Bruce Goodwin of the home; two sons, D. Scott Goodwin and wife Shannon of Colfax, NC and Jeffery A. Goodwin and wife Susan of Deer Park, TX; two brothers, David Heavner of Vale and Christopher Heavner of Clemson, SC; and four grandchildren.
