Obituaries

Mary Jo Vernon Tutterow, age 70, of 105 Butterfield Lane in Lincolnton, died on Saturday, February 22, 2014.

Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 24, 2014, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Alvin Melton officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mary Jo was born October 18, 1943, in Gaston County to the late Johnnie Thomas and Lillie Mae Roof Vernon. She worked for Sunshine Uniform Company and was a member of Horizon Baptist Church. In her spare time she loved doing crafts and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughters, Brenda Boyd and husband David of Lincolnton and Renee Gillespie of Gaston county; sons, John Tutterow of Gaston county and Harvey Lee Tutterow, Jr. and wife Debra of South Carolina; eleven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
