Obituaries

Mr. John Carlos Chapman, age 72, of 1675 Lenora Circle in Lincolnton, died on Friday, March 7, 2014.

His funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 10, 2014, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Devine officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Sunday at Warlick Funeral Home.

Mr. Chapman was born on December 16, 1941 in Lincoln County to the late Claude and Christine Rudisill Chapman.  He was a veteran of the United States Navy.  Mr. Chapman was retired from Carolina Freight where he worked for 30 years.

He is survived by his wife, Deitra Chapman of the home; two sons, Tony Chapman and wife Renee of Lincolnton, Kevin Chapman and wife Pamela of Taylorsville; one daughter, Christy Harkey and husband Ben of Lincolnton; one brother, Jerry Chapman and wife Wanda of Lincolnton; three sisters, Sharon Mosteller and husband Larry, Robin Wease and husband Glenn and Pat Wilburn and husband Tommy, all of Lincolnton; four grandchildren, T.J. Chapman and wife Allison, Mallory Sweet, Ethan Johnson and Abi Harkey and one great grandchild, Henry Chapman.
