Obituaries

Jimmy William Poole, age 77, of 623 E. McBee Street in Lincolnton, died on Wednesday, March 12, 2014.

His funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2014, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Larry Hendrix officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 14, 2014, at Warlick Funeral Home.

Jimmy was born June 27, 1936, in Lincoln County to the late William Adolphus Poole and Camie Elizabeth Setzer Poole. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Freeman of Greenville, SC. He grew up in the Pumpkin Center area and spent his adult life in Lincolnton. He was employed for 30 years and then retired from Carolina Freight Carriers in Cherryville, NC. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Linda Bumgarner Poole; children, Crystal Poole Graham and husband Mike Graham of Conway, SC, Jami Poole Lanier and husband Scott Lanier of Manteo, NC; grandchildren, Mary Grace Graham and Hannah Caroline Graham of Conway, SC, Shelby Noelle Lanier and Aubrey Christopher Lanier of Manteo, NC; sisters, Billie Wilkinson of Crouse, NC and Josephine Crouse of Iron Station, NC, and brother, Nelson Poole of Charlotte, NC.
