Virginia Potts Lockman, age 85 of Lincolnton, died on Monday, March 24, 2014.
Her funeral service will be 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 27, 2014, at Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Setzer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 3:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Virginia was born April 5, 1928, in Lincoln county to the late Walter A. Potts and Eva Lee Potts. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, John E. Lockman, two sisters Ellen Potts Mull and Sue Potts Ballard, and three brothers Reid, Lee, and Miles Potts. She was a faithful member of Macedonia Baptist Church, was a longtime choir member, and served as the church historian.
She is survived by a daughter, Sharon Lockman Bean and husband Alan of Gastonia; brother, Elliott Potts of Lincolnton; granddaughter Andrea Bean of Charlotte; grandson Dr. Ethan Bean and wife Dr. Stacey Bean of Beaver Creek, Ohio; and two great-grandchildren, Alexander and Meredith Bean.
