Kathryn Genieve Marie Shoemaker Carr, age 82, of Carillon Assisted Living, passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2014, after a 10 year battle with Alzheimer’s.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 30, 2014, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 12:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Carr was born March 24, 1932, in Greenville, OH to the late Marvin and Kathleen McCown Dean. She was a homemaker and loved shopping, watching QVC, fishing, and cooking.

She is survived by her husband, Edward Carr, Jr. of the home; three sons, Ralph Hinton of Florida, Doug Hinton of Newton, NC, and Michael Carr of Ohio; a daughter, Cathy Jo Richter of Vale; twelve grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Lincoln County, 900 Donita Drive, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
