Obituaries

Mr. Jackson Kenneth Crawley, age 71, of Vale, NC died on Saturday March 29, 2014.

Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Wednesday April 2, 2014 at Corinth Baptist Church with the Rev. William Kanupp officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friend from 1:00pm until 1:45 at the church prior to the service.

Mr. Crawley was a native of Burke County born on July 28, 1942, son of the late Ernest and Flossie Mae Denton Crawley. He worked as a computer service tech as well as a farmer. Mr. Crawley also served his country in the US Navy Sea Bee’s during the Vietnam War.

Survivors include his wife Nancy of the home; two sons Daune Crawley and wife Laurie of Lincolnton and Jeremy Crawley of Hubert N.C.; one brother Wayne Crawley of Lebanon Pa.; five sisters Reba Abernathy and Doris Peeler both of Hickory; Landis Stewart of Concord, Gail Crawley of Lenior, and Katherine Johnson of Morganton; two grandchildren Jonathan Crawley and Marilyn Crawley.
