Obituaries

Ruth Hazelene Lynn Johnson, age 88, of 3753 Asbury Church Road in Lincolnton, died on Friday, April 25, 2014.

Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 27, 2014, at David Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Eric Reese and Rev. Jack Calloway officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m. on Sunday prior to the service at the church.

Mrs. Johnson was born April 14, 1926, in Gaston County, to the late Roy and Bertie Carpenter Lynn. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Bob Lynn. She worked as an inspector in the furniture industry.

She is survived by her husband, Reynard B. Johnson of the home; a son, Steven Johnson of Lincolnton; a sister, Betty Helms and husband Rathmul of Lincolnton; two nephews, Jeff Helms and wife Sandra and Mike Helms and wife Libby. She loved her many grand nieces and nephews as well.
