Obituaries

Mr. Anthony Gerard Simonetti, age 83, of 260 New Ground Road, Lincolnton, NC died Monday, May 5, 2014.

No services are planned at this time.  Inurnment will be in the Long Island National Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY.

Mr. Simonetti was born on October 7, 1930 and was the son of the late Thomas Simonetti and Violet Frazetta Simonetti.   In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Monica Joan Simonetti. He retired as a Postmaster for the United States Postal Service and was a veteran of the United States Army having served in the Korean Conflict.  After returning home from the service, Mr. Simonetti attended the highly acclaimed Julliard School of Music in New York where he studied voice.

He is survived by two sons, Tom Simonetti of New York and Jerry Simonetti and wife, Karen of Charlotte; one daughter, Cyndi Flynn of Pompano Beach, Florida; one brother, Frank Simonetti and wife, Angela of Lindenhurst, New York; one sister, Gloria “Pee Wee” Damico of Florida; three grandchildren, Katie Simonetti, Anthony Simonetti and Tommy Simonetti.
