Mary Craig Caskey Peeler, age 91, of Lakewood Care Center, Denver, NC, passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2014.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 12, 2014, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michael Caskey officiating. Inurnment will follow the service at Bess Chapel United Methodist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service.
Mrs. Peeler was born in Gaston County on June 10, 1922, daughter of the late Charles Clay and Ida Jackson McAllister Caskey. She worked for Sonoco Products before retiring. Mrs. Peeler also served our country as a WAVE in the U.S. Navy during WWII. She is preceded in death by her husband, Hall Betha Peeler; two daughters, Beth and Peggy; five brothers, Clay, Sam, Graham, Dickie, and Johnny Caskey; and two sisters, Charles Alexander and Martha Jean Bennis.
Mrs. Peeler is survived by her daughter, Rosanne Peeler Neely and husband Mark, and granddaughter Jacquelyn of Greensboro; two brothers, David Caskey and Andy Caskey; two sisters, Peggy Bartholomew and Pat Bradshaw, all of Iron Station.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
The family would sincerely like to thank the staff of Lakewood Care Center for their wonderful love and care given to Mrs. Peeler during the years she lived there.
