Obituaries

Mrs. June Mabel Shrum Auton age 97 of the Heath house and formally of Crouse died on Saturday May 17, 2014.

Funeral services will be held  3:00pm Monday May 19, 2014 at McKendree United Methodist Church, with Rev. Tommy Conder and Rev. Bud Painter  officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends  from 1:30pm until 2:45pm prior to the service in the church family life center.

Mrs. Auton was a native of Lincoln County born on June 20, 1916. She was the daughter of the late Hiram and Dora Drum Shrum. She was preceded in death by her husband Fred Auton, one son Wilbur Auton, six brothers and three sisters. Mrs. Auton was a homemaker.

Survivors include: one son Harvey “Larry “Auton and wife Brenda of  Lincolnton; daughter-in-law Linda Auton of Crouse; one brother Woodrow Shrum of Lincolnton; five grandchildren Perry Auton, Tammy Auton, Valerie Keener, Clay Ledford, and Abby Sutton; eight great grandchildren ; and numerous nieces and nephews.
