Obituaries

Mr. Ronald Joseph Orgeron, age 64, of 291 Old Barn Road in Iron Station, died on Thursday, May 29, 2014.

His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2014, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Luke Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Asbury United Methodist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 30, 2014, at Warlick Funeral Home.

Mr. Orgeron was born April 23, 1950, in Mecklenburg County, to the late Albert Joseph and Beatrice Hall Orgeron Keener. He worked as a parts manager for Recore Electrical Contractors.

He is survived by his wife, Vickey Jones Orgeron of the home; one son, Ronald Joseph “Joe” Orgeron, Jr. of Maiden; one daughter, Shannan Orgeron Matney of Lincolnton; one brother, Alex Orgeron of Lincolnton; two sisters, Judy O. Smith of Lincolnton and Cynthia Allene Gilbert of Vale; one half-brother, David Keener of Lincolnton; and five grandchildren, Justin Orgeron, Andrew Matney, Garrett Matney, Christopher Orgeron, and Ashley Orgeron.
