Obituaries

Mrs. Thelma Ledford Taylor, age 90, of 722 S. Cedar Street in  Lincolnton, died on Friday, May 30, 2014.

Her funeral will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church with Father Gary Butterworth officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends following the service in the Parrish House at St. Luke’s .

Mrs. Taylor was born September 8, 1923 in Lincoln County to the late Filector “F.L.” and Mattie Mae Abernathy Ledford.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Ernest “Bonnie” Taylor, Sr.; three brothers, Leck Ledford, Robert Ledford and Forrest Ledford; one sister, Mozelle Shidal and one half sister, Bryte Royster.  Mrs. Taylor worked in the optometrist office of Dr. P.J. Bumberger, Jr. for many years.

Survivors include one son, Everett Ernest Taylor, Jr. and wife Nancy of Dublin, OH; one sister, Luryleen Lawing and husband Jack of Lincolnton; one grandson, Ben Taylor of Chicago, IL.
