Obituaries

Sheila Boyd Eggers, 62, of Lincolnton, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Monday, June 2, 2014.

 A celebration of life service will be 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 5, 2014, at Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Andy Royals and Butch Boyd officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:45 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.

Sheila was born June 10, 1951, in Lincoln County, to the late Marion and Gloria Houser Boyd. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Wayne “John” Boyd of Holden Beach. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church and recently retired from Ethan Allen. Sheila was the Queen of the Red Hat Society and loved her fellow red hatters. She enjoyed life to the fullest and those who knew her will miss her smile and humor.

She is survived by her husband of 16 years, Danny Eggers; two daughters, Lisa Philbeck and husband Allen of Shelby, and Wendy Huffman of Hudson and her stepchildren, Cody Eggers and fiancée Carla of California and Allison Chapman and husband T.J. of Conover; two sisters, Debbie Oxford and husband Rick of Lincolnton and Evette Drum and husband Tony of Newton; three special sisters-in-law, Cindy Cook, Sandy Huffman and Candy Tomblin; and four grandchildren, Landon Burns of the home; Elizabeth Drum, Nicholas Huffman, and Henry Chapman, all of whom she loved dearly.
